(More customer reviews)The rice cooker was purchased as a gift, based on the performance of an identical model over ten years ago. The key to the value of this cooker is "indirect heating" rice cooker, which are hard to find and usually far more expensive. Most rice cookers that I have seen are direct heating. The inner pot that holds the rice sits directly on a thermostatically controlled element which results in a crusty layer of overcooked rice in the bottom of the pot. With the indirect cooking model, every kernal of rice is perfectly cooked and it can be held at serving temperature for several hours. Its great!
