The best part is that it does not burn the rice on the bottom because the induction heat comes from around the bowl rather than from underneath it. The bowl is very heavy weight rather than thin, lightweight aluminum like the other brands have. The markings on the inside of the bowl for water are very easy to read and precise. Medium grain brown rice turns out perfectly cooked every time as do the easier-to-cook white rices. It is the first cooker I have owned that plays a tune when it starts cooking and then a different tune when the rice is cooked. Clean-up is very easy compared to other brand machines I have owned. Yes, it is expensive but every time the rice turns out perfectly I am glad I ordered this machine.
