(More customer reviews)I bought one of these close to ten years ago and it's still going strong, though I've taken it on three cross-country trips, countless weekend getaways and even to Guatemala.
Why? First, I don't like using hotel/motel coffee units -- who knows how clean their innards are? This holds more liquid, is easy to clean, and I know where it's been!
Second, it's useful for more than just heating water. I once took my daughter to a nice Disneyland hotel for four days, and did all our cooking in this little pot because food was so pricey. I heated soup, ramen, veggies, all kinds of things... and we actually ate well (though simply) the whole time.
Other reviewers have noted that it doesn't have auto shut-off. That's a good point, and it's a bit of a pain, particularly when you're as forgetful as I am. But the water always boils loudly enough that I hear it. Could be a problem in everyday use if you are wandering from room to room; fine for a motel.
The flip side is being able to adjust the heat level, which I don't think you could do if the unit shut off automatically. I've found that VERY handy for things that need a gentle heat, and use that feature a lot.
Power cord is frustratingly short, but necessarily so for safety reasons.
Naturally, anything that holds 32 oz. of water is a little bulky, but when I put it in my suitcase I just jam socks and breakables into it, so it ends up taking less room than you'd think. You can snap the top off, which is also a help when packing it. It's fairly lightweight.
The reason I'm back at this page is that my daughter just went to college and took the pot with her. I need a replacement for my travels without her! I was amazed to find the same pot is still being sold after all these years. That's probably a good sign about its quality in an era when things get redesigned every year.
At this price, if it lasted a year or two of steady use, I think I'd still be happy.

(More customer reviews)I use this little crockpot to make steel-cut oatmeal for a healthy breakfast, and it works just great! The temperature is fine and I haven't had an issue with overcooked oatmeal.
Another reviewer noted one of the frustrating things about this little slow cooker, and that's that the insert isn't removable, as it is on some big crock pots. That makes cleaning frustrating. I've found a good solution to that - I add a little bit of water to the pot and then insert a large ramekin into the basin. The lid still fits just fine, to keep too much water from evaporating. It turns it into kind of a "double boiler" setup, which buffers the heat and gives me an easily removable bowl of oatmeal in the morning. For a while, I was eating right out of the crock pot, but this solution is much better. Any crusty oatmeal can then just get washed out in the dishwasher and I rarely have to worry about cleaning the small crockpot itself.
I love this little appliance - I don't think anything else would work quite as well for the purpose I use it for.

(More customer reviews)This is a really nice stainless steel pot for shabu shabu. Haven't tried the grill pan yet. But looks like fun to cook in it. The only thing is the power cord is too short. I have to buy extension to reach the outlet on the wall. You are supposed to put this pot on the table and have the shabu shabu, not on the cooking counter. That's why I only give it 4 stars.

(More customer reviews)I got my multicooker on Saturday and used it for dinner. I found that it reaches the set temperature quickly so you need to be prepared for that. Other electric cookers I have used take longer to reach operating temperature. The meal came out fine and the multicooker cleaned up easily.
I got this product because my Cuisinart rice cooker is annoying to use and difficult to do other things than just cook rice. This product has a much larger steam basket than the Cuisinart. It is also more versatile than my Presto multicooker. That has a terrible steaming option and can't cook rice.
Some people complain about the lack of instructions. The booklet that comes in the box is shorter than the PDF version which is found on the product's home page. Do a google on George Foreman multicooker and you'll see the link for the PDF. That version of the manual has detailed rice cooking and steaming instructions. It has some recipes too.
Some people complain about the lack of recipes. I am a vegetarian and am almost vegan now. No appliances provide recipes that fit my needs. I still manage to cook and make use of the products. If you know how to cook something you should be able to figure out how to cook in the multicooker. If you buy a new skillet I doubt if you will get detailed recipes. Yet you would be able to use it and figure out how even it heats, etc. This is just a cooking appliance. It is a tool. Use it. Get used to it. Adapt you current recipes. You'll do fine.
I only gave the multicooker 4 stars because I have not used all off the functions yet. What I have done so far has met my expectations. I can see where I may stop using some other appliances that are more limited in functionality than the multicooker since it can do what they can and more. That will save some space in my kitchen.

I've looked for a long time for an electric kettle that allows the water not to contact any plastic, and this kettle has this exact feature -- the interior is completely metal although the lid is plastic, but you don't have to use the lid if you don't want to. I also like the way the heating element is completely sealed and that the kettle detaches from the base (the cordless feature). This kettle's construction appear to be very good quality, and it has a 1-year warranty. Its water kettle function works great -- it boils 1 liter of cold water in about 5 minutes. It being a noodle cooker/ soup warmer is a cool feature that I might use one day. This item also comes with a collander and a cute little metal pasta fork to aid you with cooking noodles. I'm very glad I found this kettle.

(More customer reviews)I am cheap (Asian), and was not keen on plopping down $100 on this cooker. Totally worth it. I got it after I saw some little old ladies at 99 Ranch buying one!
Cooks hot pot like a CHAMP. I was using a single burner with a divided hot pot pot (lol) on top and I had to boil a separate pot the stove to keep up with demand (feeding 4 adults). No more! This thing is sooo convenient. Super easy to adjust the temperature and it heats up quickly.
Nice safety feature that it has a magnetic power cord, in case someone trips over it or you have kids. It stays on just fine.
Also works great as a steamer.
The finish is conducive to easy cleanup.
The grill part...well, I mean...it's essentially a one-sided George Foreman grill. Nothing too special there--but it is very easy to clean.
Buy it! You know if the old Chinese ladies at 99 Ranch were buying, it HAS to be good.
**Update**
Owned it now for almost a year. Still going strong, still highly recommended. It even saved me through a stove issue (2 weeks for the new part to arrive). There are a lot of things you can make with this cooker, I have to say.
