Presto Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring/Overpressure Plug Pack (4 & 6 Quart) Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I keep a small supply of these on hand because, even though my two Presto pressure cookers are only three months old, the gaskets do not last very long and scalding liquids seep out from under the cover--making a real mess on my countertops.
These gaskets are made in China, according to the packaging that comes with them, and I suspect that they are not made as well as those that were produced in the U.S. in the "good-old days."
I am thankful that they are available through Amazon.com, and are usually shipped out relatively quickly. If you're going to use pressure cookers, you do need to keep a supply on hand, IMO.

The sealing ring fits around the inside rim of the cover and forms a pressure-tight seal between the cover and the body of the pressure cooker during cooking or canning. When installing a sealing ring, work it into the cover in four small sections, for example, top, bottom, left and right. Work it into the groove a small section at a time until it is fully in place. Place the cover on the cooker body. Put one hand on the top center of the cover and push down firmly. Open and close the cover several times. The 09936 sealing ring fits both the 4- and 6-quart stainless steel cookers and 6-quart aluminum cookers.
